    A winter storm system is bringing clouds and showers into the region. The shower will start out as rain and will eventually change over to snowflakes. The rain and snow mix will last through Wednesday with mostly snow for the higher elevations. Dry conditions will return for Thursday and Friday.

    Tonight, skies will be cloudy with rain showers that will eventually turn over to snowflakes. The overnight low temperature will drop to 34 degrees. Wednesday will be cloudy with rain and snow showers that will fall as mostly snow over the mountains. Charleston will see about an inch of snowfall with the mountains looking at accumulations of several inches. The high temperature will be 38 degrees with breezy conditions at times. Thursday will see high pressure move back into the region for partly cloudy skies along with dry conditions. The high temperature will warm to 47 degrees. Friday will be partly cloudy and dry with a high temperature of 51 degrees,

    The weekend will start out with mostly cloudy skies along with rain showers as a warm front moves into the region on Saturday. The high temperature will be 52 degrees. Sunday will be cloudy with rain showers as the trailing cold front moves in. The high temperature will drop back to 48 degrees.

    Monday will be mostly cloudy with rain showers as the front lifts back to the north as a warm front. The high temperature will warm to 55 degrees. Tuesday will be cloudy with rain showers as the front drops back to the south as a cold front. The high temperature will make it to 60 degrees in the warmer air ahead of the front. Wednesday will be partly cloudy and dry as high pressure moves back in over the region. The high temperature will fall to 53 degrees in the cooler air behind the front. Thursday will be partly cloudy and dry under high pressure. The high temperature will make it to 57 degrees. Friday will be mostly cloudy with rain showers as the next front moves in. The high temperature will drop back to 52 degrees.
