An approaching storm system will spread clouds across the region tonight which will make for areas of freezing rain or sleet followed by rain showers. The rain showers will last through most of St. Patrick's Day Saturday. Dry conditions will return for Sunday and Monday before a return to wintry conditions by the middle of next week.

Tonight, skies will be mostly clear with clouds moving in late. Freezing rain or sleet will start to fall early Saturday morning with the overnight low temperature dropping to a chilly 30 degrees. The weekend will start out with cloudy skies along with rain showers through the rest of Saturday. The high temperature will make it to 48 degrees. Sunday will be partly cloudy and dry along with a warmer high temperature of 60 degrees.

Monday will be mostly cloudy and dry with a chance of rain showers, mainly to the south. The high temperature will be 62 degrees. Tuesday will be cloudy with rain showers as a low pressure system moves into the region. The high temperature will drop a bit to 56 degrees. The Vernal Equinox, the calendar start to spring arrives at 12:15 PM Tuesday. Wednesday will be cloudy with snow showers as low pressure moves in over the region. The high temperature will be 40 degrees. Thursday will be cloudy and cold with snow showers under persistent low pressure. The high temperature will fall again to 34 degrees. Friday will be mostly sunny and dry under high pressure with the high temperature warming back to 45 degrees.

The next weekend will start out with partly cloudy skies along with dry conditions on Saturday. The high temperature will warm to a seasonable 55 degrees. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with rain showers as a cold front moves in. The high temperature will make it to 58 degrees in the warmer air ahead of the front. Monday will be cloudy with rain showers as low pressure remains in place over the region. The high temperature will drop back to 52 degrees.

St. Patrick's Day Saturday: Cloudy with freezing rain or sleet changing to rain showers. High 48 degrees.

Sunday: Partly cloudy and dry. High 60 degrees.

Tuesday: Cloudy with rain showers. High 56 degrees.

Wednesday: Cloudy with snow showers. High 40 degrees.

Thursday: Cloudy with snow showers. High 34 degrees.

Friday: Mostly sunny and dry. High 45 degrees.

Saturday: Partly cloudy and dry. High 55 degrees.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy with rain showers. High 58 degrees.

Monday: Cloudy with rain showers. High 52 degrees.
