Jim Barach's Forecast Discussion



    A storm system brought scattered rain showers to much of the region on Friday. Showers and storms will continue through the night into Saturday which could become heavy at times. Rain showers and storms will last into Sunday morning before finally tapering off. Heavy rainfall amounts could cause more flooding in the Tri-State area along with flooding along the Ohio River.

    Tonight, skies will be cloudy with showers and possibly thunderstorms scattered around the region. The overnight low temperature will be 55 degrees. The weekend will start out with cloudy skies along with showers and storms on Saturday. The high temperature will make it to 70 degrees despite the additional clouds and showers. Sunday will be cloudy with showers and storms, mainly during the morning hours. The high temperature will warm slightly to 72 degrees. Total rainfall for the weekend will be in the half inch to one inch range in Charleston with totals in Southern Ohio coming in around an inch and a half to two inches.

    Monday will be mostly cloudy and dry with the high temperature dropping to 63 degrees. Tuesday will be partly cloudy and dry under high pressure. The high temperature will warm back to 68 degrees. A cold front moves into the region on Wednesday for mostly cloudy skies along with rain showers. The high temperature will make it to 71 degrees in the warmer air ahead of the front. Thursday will be mostly cloudy with rain showers as the front stalls over the region. The high temperature will still be 70 degrees. Friday will be mostly cloudy with showers as the front moves through. The high temperature will drop a bit to 66 degrees.

    The next weekend will start out with partly cloudy skies along with dry conditions under high pressure. The high temperature will cool to 49 degrees. Sunday will also be partly cloudy and dry under high pressure with a high temperature of 44 degrees. Monday will be partly cloudy and dry. The high temperature will warm slightly to 47 degrees.

    Sunday: Cloudy with showers and storms early in the day. High 72 degrees.

    Monday: Mostly cloudy and dry. High 63 degrees.

    Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with showers. High 71 degrees.

    Thursday: Mostly cloudy with showers. High 70 degrees.

    Friday: Mostly cloudy with showers. High 66 degrees.

    Saturday: Partly cloudy and dry. High 49 degrees.

    Sunday: Partly cloudy and dry. High 44 degrees.

    Monday: Partly cloudy and dry. High 47 degrees.
