High pressure brought sunshine and warmer temperatures to the region on Thursday although it was still cooler than normal for this time of year. The high will build, chasing out the arctic air mass and causing temperatures to rise dramatically through the weekend. It will remain dry until rain showers move in late Sunday through Monday.
Tonight, skies will be clear and it will be chilly with an overnight low temperature of 16 degrees. Friday will be mostly sunny and dry. Despite the snow cover still on the ground, the high temperature will warm all the way to 48 degrees.
The weekend will start out with mostly sunny skies along with dry conditions under high pressure on Saturday. The high temperature will warm again to 54 degrees. Sunday will be mostly cloudy but dry as a warm front moves through the region. The warmer air behind the front will kick the mercury up to a pleasant 62 degrees.
Monday will see the trailing cold front move into the region for cloudy skies along with showers and possibly thunderstorms. The warmer air ahead of the front will push the temperature to a high of 66 degrees. Tuesday will be cloudy with lingering rain showers. The high temperature will drop back to 45 degrees in the cooler air moving in behind the front. Wednesday will be partly cloudy and dry as high pressure returns to the region. The high temperature will drop again to 39 degrees. Thursday will be partly cloudy and dry under high pressure. The high temperature will warm back to a seasonable 42 degrees. Friday will be mostly cloudy with rain showers as the next cold front moves into the region. The warmer air ahead of the front will take the mercury back up to 55 degrees.
The next weekend will start off with mostly cloudy skies along with thunderstorms as the cold front moves through the region. The high temperature will make it to 61 degrees before the front moves past. Sunday will be cloudy with rain showers that could mix in with snow showers late. The high temperature will drop a bit to 43 degrees.
