Defense Rules Gold-Blue Game

The Mountaineers wrapped up the 2017 spring football season with the annual Gold-Blue Game in defensive fashion. The Blue topped the Gold 51-21 in the modified scoring system. The Gold scored two touchdowns while the Blue kept the Gold from putting points on the board on 13 of 15 possessions. Will Grier showed poise at quarterback throwing for 202 yards. Justin Crawford, the Big 12's leading returning rusher, ran for a 51 yard touchdown. The Mountaineers open up 2017 on September 3 against old rival Virginia Tech. It will be the first time these two schools have met in football since 2005.
