CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — No need to jump in the car and drive several hours to Morgantown this weekend to see the Mountaineers play Division 1 basketball.
The West Virginia University women’s team will be playing Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, according to the arena’s website. Tipoff for the game against Eastern Kentucky is 4 p.m.

WVU’s women’s squad is 5-2 overall and is coming off Saturday’s win over Pitt. The Mountaineers hammered the Panthers, 77-43, in a game in Pittsburgh.
Earlier this year, the women’s team cruised past Eastern Kentucky in a game played in the Bahamas. WVU cruised past the Colonels, 81-39, in that Nov. 24 contest.
EKU has been struggling this season and is 1-8. On Sunday, the team dropped a game to George Mason University, 91-75.
WVU has had a balanced attack so far this season. The Mountaineers are paced by guard Tynice Martin. The 5 feet, 11 redshirt junior from Atlanta, Ga., is averaging 19.1 points. Other top scorers are guard/forward Naomi Davenport, 14.3; guard Kysre Gondrezick, 13.2; and guard Katrina Pardee, 12.1.
