Marshall Basketball: William & Mary hand Herd a loss

WILLIAMSBURG, VA (WCHS-TV/WVAH-TV) - Four players scored in double figures for Marshall but it wasn't enough as the Thundering Herd suffered a road loss to William and Mary on Wednesday night, 114-104.

Jon Elmore scored 32 points to lead the Herd.

Marshall dropped to 4-3 with the loss and William and Mary moved to 4-2.

With the loss, the Herd fell to 4-3 overall, while the Tribe rose to 4-2.

C.J. Burks tied a career-high 27 points while freshman Jarrod West scored 22.

Ajdin Penava had 11 for the Herd.

Marshall returns home to face Akron Saturday night. It will be a 7 p.m. tipoff at the Cam Henderson Center.
