Carter wins Hardman Award

West Virginia senior guard Jevon Carter was named the 2017 Hardman Award winner. The honor is given to the top amatauer athlete in the state.

He's now the third consecutive athlete from WVU to win the award. Mountaineer women's soccer star Kadeisha Buchanan was the 2015 and 2016 winner.

The Hardman Award is voted on by members of the W.Va. Writer's Association

Other finalists for the year included: WVU wide receiver David Sills and quarterback Will Grier, Marshall basketball guard Jon Elmore, and Fairmont State's Matt Bingaya.

Carter will be presented the award at the Victory Awards Dinner on May 6 in Charleston.
