    Marshall's Jon Elmore set the Conference USA career scoring record in the Herd's win over North Texas Sunday.

    Just over a month after losing to the Mean Green by 27, Marshall (16-13, 9-7) returned to Denton and defeated North Texas (20-10, 8-9) 85-82.

    Elmore finished the game with 20 points and became the league's all-time leading scorer midway through the first half.

    Elmore is now the only player in Division 1 basketball to hold a conference record for career points (2,561) and assists (738) at the same time.

    With two regular season games remaining, Elmore is now just 103 points shy of tying Skip Henderson for the school's all-time scoring record.

    Elmore's fellow senior, C.J. Burks led the Herd is scoring Sunday with 21 points on 8 of 11 shooting.

    Freshman Taevion Kinsey came off the bench and scored 19 points.

    The Herd will now return home to take on FIU and FAU in the final two regular season games of the season. The Herd will take on the Golden Panthers Wednesday at 7 p.m. before facing the Owls Saturday at noon.
