Hurricane, St. Albans meet in final Wendy's Friday Night Rivals Game of the Week

The No. 16 Hurricane Redskins will travel to Kanawha County to take on St. Albans in the final Wendy's Friday Night Rivals Game of the Week of the 2018 season.

In the final game of the regular season, Hurricane (4-5) will be looking to secure a postseason berth while the Red Dragons (1-8) are hoping to end the season in winning fashion.

Two weeks ago, Hurricane defeated South Charleston 31-20 to end a three game losing streak.

Coming off a bye week, Redskins currently hold the final playoff spot and need a win to secure a spot in the postseason.

Led by junior running back Christian Hill, the Redskins are scoring 20.1 points per game. Defensively, Hurricane is allowing 24.5 points per game.

The Red Dragons will be hoping to end what has been a difficult season on a high note Friday night.

St. Albans has struggled on both sides of the ball this season, scoring just 8.5 points per game and allowing 54.8 points per game. The Red Dragons have scores six or fewer points six times and have been shutout three times. Defensively, they have allowed at least 60 points in six games.

Through nine games, the Red Dragons have been outscored 498-77.

St. Albans' lone win of the season came on Aug. 31 when the Red Dragons defeated rival Nitro 32-28.

Hurricane has won nine of the last ten match ups with St. Albans, including last year, 42-14. St. Albans last win against Hurricane came in 2007 when the Red Dragons win 21-20 in overtime.

The Redskins and Red Dragons are set to kick off at 7:30 p.m.
