Manchin, Capito discuss vote on Judge Kavanaugh
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
Last Saturday, the U.S. Senate narrowly confirmed Brett Kananaugh to join the U.S. Supreme Court.
Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va. both voted to confirm Kavanaugh.
Manchin, the lone Democrat to vote for Kavanaugh's confirmation, said his decision was based on facts and meetings he had with Kavanaugh, not politics.
Capito said she voted for Kavanaugh because she feels he will uphold the constitution and feels his confirmation will energize West Virginia Republicans.
