Recall: Several brands of Swiss Rolls recalled over salmonella concerns
THOMASVILLE, Ga. —
Swiss Rolls sold under several names, including Mrs. Freshley's and Great Value, are being voluntary recalled by the company because of a potential for Salmonella.
Flower Foods said they're recalling the treats, along with Captain John Derst's Old Fashioned Bread because there could possibly be Salmonella in one of the ingredients, whey powder. A whey powder manufacturer and supplier issued an ingredient recall.
There haven't been any illnesses reported in connection with the recalled products. Salmonella can cause serious infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthier people can also get sick from salmonella, suffering from things like diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
The recalled products are sold under the brands Mrs.Freshley's, Food Lion, H-E-B, Baker's Treat, Market Square, and Great Value. You can get the full information including UPC numbers here.
If you have any of the recalled products, you should throw them away or return them to the store you bought them from for a refund.
