Woman taken to the hospital after being hit by SUV
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
West Virginia State Police are investigating after a woman was apparently run over by a sport utility vehicle in Kanawha County.
South Charleston police said a witness said she was driving behind a Jeep along Rabel Mountain about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday when she saw the passenger and driver fighting.
The witness told investigators that the victim got out of the SUV and while she was still holding the door handle, the SUV sped off, causing the victim to be thrown to the ground and run over by the back tires.
The witness saids she knew the woman and picked her up, eventually driving to McDonald's at Southridge and calling for an ambulance.
Right now, there is no word on who police are searching for in the incident.
The victim was responsive and taken to the hospital.
