Woman dies, man injured in Route 60 crash near Belle

West Virginia State Police have released the name of the victim in a fatal crash Thursday near Belle.

Ruth E. Nida of Charleston was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Richard Nida, the driver of the vehicle, was transported to Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital. His condition was unavailable Friday morning. Both victims are elderly.

The crash was reported about 11:15 a.m. on Route 60 near the DuPont Plant in Belle.

The Belle Police Department and the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
