A man has been charged after West Virginia State Police say he rammed his truck into a car with four juveniles, causing the juveniles' vehicle to collide into a house.

Joshua Chaney, 32, is charged with four counts of malicious assault, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police.

About 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, West Virginia State Police responded on Route 214 in Sumerco for reports of a Dodge truck chasing a car with four juveniles inside, the release said. The truck had hit the car, causing the vehicle to spin and crash into a house.

Troopers said they learned Chaney rammed the truck into the back of the car. The four juveniles were taken to the hospital. A criminal complaint filed against Chaney said the juveniles sustained serious injuries in the crash.

State Police say no one inside the house was injured.

The criminal complaint said the juveniles said they did not know the man accused of ramming their vehicle or why he would be coming after them.

Chaney is being held in Western Regional Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
