Tuesday is a day to remember a devastating loss that was experienced 47 years ago by the Marshall University community.

A memorial service will be conducted at the memorial fountain on the Memorial Student Center plaza to honor the lives of the 75 people lost in the Nov. 14, 1970, plane crash that killed members of the Marshall football team, coaches and staff, community members and flight crew. The event may be viewed at the link below starting at noon.

The university said the Student Government Association hosts the event each year. The service will conclude with the placing of the memorial wreath at the Memorial Fountain. The fountain will be silenced after the laying of the wreath, and remain silent until next spring.
