BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) — Two West Virginia men are accused of sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint in Beckley.
The Register-Herald reported Timothy Darnell Harris Jr., 46, and Michael Brent Ritter, 50, were arrested this week on charges including sexual assault and conspiracy. Criminal complaints said the victim told Beckley police she was walking home Saturday night when the two men forced her into a wooded area and assaulted her for hours, telling her that "all women deserve to be raped."
Police reported say she made it home and called 911. Her descriptions enabled officers to arrest the men in a traffic stop. She positively identified them and was then taken to a hospital for a sexual assault evaluation.
Harris and Ritter are currently being held in Southern Regional Jail on $100,000 bail; it's unclear if they have lawyers.
