Deputies are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Sunday evening in Kanawha County.

Two people were found dead in Sissonville from gunshot wounds, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.

A 60-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were reportedly discovered at 3312 Walker Drive, according to Sgt. Ana Pile.

"At this time, we don't feel like there is any danger to the public. We're obviously very early in the investigation, but if there is anything like that that we need to release, we will," Sgt. Ana Pile of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office said.

Neighbors who knew the man and woman personally say they were both quiet and kind neighbors.

"Yeah, it's safe, you know, everybody gets along and just stays to themselves," neighbor Jerome Patrick said.

The sheriff's office said no other people were involved in the shooting and they are still investigating the home.

Additional details will be provided once they become available.
