Suspicious package sent to hotel in Boone County

    West Virginia State Police responded to a suspicious package call at a Madison hotel and later learned it contained political books.

    State Police said the incident occurred at Hotel Madison in Boone County.

    Troopers said a bomb technician examined the package and deemed it safe. The package contained political books and was sent from California.

    The family at the hotel recently did an interview regarding politics and have been receiving threatening phone calls. The suspicious package was received Thursday.
