Six women arrested in prostitution sting in Huntington

Huntington police arrested six women during a prostitution sting Wednesday evening on the city's West Side.

A release from the city of Huntington said the women offered detectives sexual acts in exchange for money in the area of 10th Street and Jefferson Avenue. The sting was made after several complaints and businesses in the area had made complaints.

Below is a list of those arrested and their charges:

* April Marie Minnick, 34, of Huntington, soliciting prostitution and a city warrant for trespassing.

* Ashley Dawn Russell, 26, of Huntington, soliciting prostitution and city warrants for destruction of property and battery.

* Tiffany Nicole Handley, 26, of Huntington, soliciting prostitution and an active city warrant for intoxicating substances.

* Cassandra L. Nichols, 29, of Huntington, soliciting prostitution.

* Tori Leeann Jones, 24, of Huntington, soliciting prostitution.

* Brittany Danielle Beckelheimer, 27, of Huntington, soliciting prostitution.

The women arrested will be taken to the Western Regional Jail and will be offered an opportunity to participate in the Huntington Police Department's Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) Program, which includes rehabilitation services and a health screening through the police department's mental health crisis counselor while they are on bond, according to the release. If they refuse to enter or fail to complete the program offered to them, they will be remanded back to jail on their underlying charges awaiting adjudication.
