SISSONVILLE, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — Sissonville senior Seth Fields was named the 2018 Todd Judy Ford Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Fields was announced the winner at a ceremony Friday at Sissonville High School and was awarded with a $5,000 scholarship. He beat out 19 other high school student-athletes who were selected as the Todd Judy Ford Scholar Athletes of the Week during our Wendy's Friday Night Rivals Game of the Week.
While at Sissonville, Fields was a member of the track and field team and the soccer team. He is also a member of the school's ROTC program.
Fields plans to attend West Virginia University where he will major in agroecology and minor in agribusiness. After college, he hopes to turn abandoned warehouses in Charleston into vertical gardens that will provide fresh, healthy food to local schools and underprivileged students.
