Sissonville Middle School holding spooky fundraiser for athletic facility upgrades
SISSONVILLE, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
Even though Halloween is a month away, one school in Kawawha County is hosting a very “scary” fundraiser.
The Sissonville Youth and Community Foundation will be sponsoring “Trail of Horrors” at Sissonville Middle School.
The trail is a part of its fundraiser to construct a baseball field and address athletic facility upgrades.
“Trail of Horrors” will be open from 8 to 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 and will be open each Friday and Saturday night through Oct. 27.
"Unfortunately a lot of the kids in our community, they don't have a strong family-base, they don't have a strong family model, but there are people in the community willing to fill that void and we do that with sports and athletics,” Principal Gene Smith said.
Tickets may be purchased at Sissonville Middle School.
Admission is $10 per person with a $1 discount for those donating non-perishable canned goods.
