Safe stolen from Huntington-Cabell-Wayne Animal Shelter
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
The Huntington Police Department is investigating a burglary at the Huntington-Cabell-Wayne Animal Shelter where a safe was the only item taken.
Director Scott Iseli says the safe was literally ripped out of the wall. The incident happened sometime Tuesday morning.
He says the incident is not having an impact on the care of animals at the shelter, adding it's more of an inconvenience on shelter operations
"It's going to be very difficult to get into. There wasn't hardly anything of value in the safe that they took," said Iseli.
Because of the burglary, Iseli says procedures have been changed on how money is handled.
