CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — A five-piece rhythm and blues band that has made several appearances at Moses Auto Group Live on the Levee will return as the featured performer.
The Soul Doctors is the headliner for the free summer concert series on Friday, June 29. Band members will take the Schoenbaum Stage about 7:45 p.m. at Haddad Riverfront Park in Charleston.
Opening act Shine, a rock 'n' roll blues band, will get the music started about 6:30 p.m.
Live on the Levee is a free concert series that offers entertainment on 15 Fridays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. This year’s lineup features 20 first-time performers, 10 national touring acts and seven returning favorites.
Eyewitness News is the exclusive media sponsor of Live on the Levee.
The concert series serves as a fundraiser for five local charities - Covenant House of West Virginia, Manna Meal, the Religious Coalition for Community Renewal, Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center and the YWCA of Charleston.
Every Friday night, representatives from one of these organizations sell tickets for a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds from the raffle are collected throughout the season and divided among the five charities at the end of the year.
