How would you like to own you own island in the Mountain State?

The 36-acre private island is located in the Greenbrier River in the Alderson area and you will have the chance to bid on it in late September.

The island includes a functional and comfortable boat house, a highway standard bridge, and a new dock, according to the Joe R. Pyle Complete Auction and Realty Service. The home on the island includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a loft-style eating area and balcony, and a living room complete with cherry floors.

According to a news release from the Joe R. Pyle Complete Auction and Realty Service, the current owners said the island was once inhabited by Native Americans.

The auction will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20.

This will be the second West Virginia island to be up for auction this summer.

In July, a 17-acre island in the Kanawha River in Fayette County sold for $60,000.
