Arrest made in Huntington stabbing

Huntington police have arrested a man who was wanted in connection with a Sunday afternoon stabbing.

Brandon M. Thompson is charged with malicious assault, according to a criminal complaint.

The complaint said Thompson and his estranged wife got into a disagreement at an apartment in the 2100 block of Adams Avenue. During the disagreement, the complaint said Thompson got a pocket knife out and stabbed the victim in the neck.

After searching the area, Huntington police located Thompson.

The complaint during an interview with police, Thompson confessed to stabbing the victim.

He is being held in the Western Regional Jail on $100,000 bond.

Police in Huntington are investigating a possible stabbing that took place Sunday afternoon.

A woman said she was stabbed in the neck at about 2 p.m. at an apartment at 20th Street and Adams Avenue, according to Huntington police.

Police said the woman came out of the apartment yelling that she had been stabbed in the neck and a neighbor who heard her called 911.

According to police, the man accused of stabbing the woman left the scene before officers arrived.

At this time, no other details have been released.
