Police investigating after body found at Charleston intersection

Charleston Police have confirmed a body was found around 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pacific Street and Garrison Avenue.

Detectives continue to investigate the scene, which is being treated as an active crime scene, according to Lt. Tony Hazelett, chief of detectives with the Charleston Police Department.

Hazelett said police are unsure of the circumstances surrounding the death.

Kanawha County School officials said one bus affected by this area has changed its route. Parents should pick up students on Kanawha County Schools bus 213 at the mouth of Garrison Avenue and Crescent Road. Students who ride this bus are from Stonewall Jackson Middle School and Capital High School.
