Police continue investigation of fatal shootout on Charleston's West Side
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
Charleston police are continuing their investigation after a police pursuit ended in a shootout on the West Side.
Investigators said Rodney Toler was shot and killed by South Charleston police.
Toler led officers on a chase that started in Dunbar, then crashed his car on Hunt Avenue in Charleston, police said.
After the crash, police said Toler got out of the car and began shooting at officers. They returned fire, killing Toler.
