OktoberWest to return for annual celebration of fall fun

Grab some bratwurst and some beer and get ready to celebrate German heritage and culture. OktoberWest returns this weekend to the capital city.

The annual festival, is Charleston Main Streets West Side’s largest fundraiser of the year and runs 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, according to information on the Charleston West Side website.

Now in its 10th year, the festival is held in the 200 block of Washington Street West, 700 block of Bigley Avenue and 600 block of Tennessee Avenue.

Traditional beers, West Virginia and national craft beer favorites and tasty treats from up to 10 local food vendors will be available, organizers said.

Numerous businesses on Washington Street West, Bigley Avenue,and Tennessee Ave. that will have their doors open to OktoberWest attendees.

Tickets are available online here. General admission tickets are $35 and include six 12-ounce beer tickets and access to the concert series; nondrinker tickets are $20 that include access to the concert series; and children tickets are $10 for children 12 and under and include American Billiards Kids’ Zone and concert series. Tickets also may be purchased at the gate.

Musical entertainment will be provided by headliner The Mantras, a five-piece rock’n’roll band from Greensboro, N.C.; Crystal Bright & The Silver Hands; and Static Fur.
