The West Virginia DNR said biologists found no foul play after hundreds of dead fish were found in a private pond in Milton Saturday.

The DNR said the private pond where the fish were found sits adjacent to the Mud River and with recent high water, these small ponds became a refuge for fish.

According to the DNR, the when the high water recedes, the number of fish is to high for oxygen levels in the pond when results in the large fish kill.
