Months Of Training Put To Test At 43rd Charleston Distance Run

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Months of training were put to the test Saturday as hundreds of runners took part in the annual Charleston Distance Run.

The races concluded the 43rd addition of the Labor Day weekend tradition after a week packed full of activities.

Runners could participate in a 5K run and walk, a 10K walk, a three person 15 mile relay, and a grueling 15 mile run through the Capital City.

The races started on Kanawha Boulevard near the State Capitol Complex and finished at Laidley Field.

The winners of the 5K walk were Carl Shaw with a time of 42:45.7 and Pina Sangani with a time of 36:44.1. See a full list of results here.

Caleb Adams won the men's 5K run with a time of 19:32.6, and Amelia Sebok won the women's with a time of 19:46.1. See the full 5K run results here.

The winner of the men's 10K walk was Lloyd Talkington, who finished with a time of 1:17:35.2. Donna Graham won the women's 10K walk with a time of 1:14:21.5. See the 10K walk results here.
