Home catches fire in Charleston

The second fire in less than a year gutted an already damaged vacant house and melted the siding off a neighbor's home on Whitney Road in Charleston.

The call came in around 5:30 a.m.

The same building caught fire last September.

Damage was so extensive this time it was too risky for investigators to enter part of the house. The cause is officially listed as undetermined, but firefighters suspect either someone started a fire to keep warm or cook or that the house was burned deliberately.
