MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — The Mingo County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that January vehicle registrations were not properly processed.
In a Facebook post that has now been removed, the sheriff’s office said anyone who renewed his or her car registration at any tax office in January 2018 in the county should contact the state Division of Motor Vehicles Office in Charleston.
“It has been brought to our attention that these registrations were never processed at the DMV, therefore your registration is not showing active,” the post says.
Natalie Holcomb, DMV spokeswoman, said the department has been made aware that there could be an issue and they currently are pulling records to find out what happened. Holcomb said the DMV is unsure how many people could be affected, as they are working to see if there was an issue or not.
Anyone with concerns should contact the DMV at 1-800-642-9066.
