Marshall snaps four-game losing streak with win over Middle Tennessee

    Six Marshall players scored in double-figures as the Herd snapped a four-game losing streak with a win over Middle Tennessee.

    The Herd (14-13, 7-7) defeated the Blue Raiders (8-19, 5-9) 98-93 Saturday afternoon.

    Marshall had lost seven of its last eight games going into Saturday's matchup with Middle Tennessee.

    C.J. Burks led the Herd in scoring with 20 points. Burks also had a game-high six steals.

    Senior Jon Elmore was a perfect 11 of 11 from the free throw line and scored 19.

    Sophomore Jannson Williams scored 16 and Darius George added 11 for the Herd.

    Marshall also got a big boost from its bench with freshman Taevion Kinsey scoring 13 and senior Rondale Watson scoring 17.

    Marshall won the turnover battle 16-9 but was out-rebounded 51-25 by the Blue Raiders.

    Middle Tennessee's Antonio Green led all scorers with 31 points. Reggie Scurry added 24 for the Blue Raiders.

    With the win, Marshall secured the No. 7 seed in Conference USA's pod play which will start next Saturday.
