Two local bands will be rocking Moses Auto Group Live on the Levee this weekend with hard-driving rhythms and screaming guitars.

Charleston band Non-Friction – a group that plays everything from Nirvana to Motley Crue to Joan Jett - is the headliner for the concert Friday, June 8, on the Schoenbaum Stage at Haddad Riverfront Park in Charleston.

Music gets started about 6:30 p.m. with opening act 5 Star Rebellion, a rock ’n’ roll group from Clay County. Non-Friction takes the stage about 7:45 p.m.

The music is part of the entertainment for the Capitol City Biker Bash, a three-day celebration when hundreds of motorcyclists will pour into the city for food and music and fun.

Live on the Levee is a free concert series that offers entertainment on 15 Fridays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. This year’s lineup features 20 first-time performers, 10 national touring acts and seven returning favorites.

Eyewitness News is the exclusive media sponsor of Live on the Levee.

The concert series serves as a fundraiser for five local charities - Covenant House of West Virginia, Manna Meal, the Religious Coalition for Community Renewal, Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center and the YWCA of Charleston.

Every Friday night, representatives from one of these organizations sell tickets for a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds from the raffle are collected throughout the season and divided among the five charities at the end of the year.
