U.S. Sen Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., will join officials at Yeager Airport for a news conference Friday to comment on the impact of the partial government shutdown.

Live coverage of the news conference can be viewed on the player embedded in this story below beginning at 4 p.m. and on the station’s Facebook page.

A new advisory from the airport said Manchin would be at the news conference along with Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper and Airport Director Terry Sayre at the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint.

On Thursday, Yeager officials were offering meal vouchers to some of the Transportation Security Administration and Federal Aviation Administration workers during the partial shutdown. Airport officials said then that operations at Yeager have not been effected yet.

More than 800,000 federal employees, including thousands of West Virginia workers, missed their first paycheck on Friday.
