If you like beer, chili and dogs, we have the event for you!

On Saturday, November 10 the Wagging Tails and Nitro Ales event will be taking place in Nitro, and it’s all for a good cause.

There will be 40 different craft beers to sip on.

The chili cook off features 30 different recipes.

In the homestyle category, anything goes. That means you can cook up white chicken chili, red chili, vegetarian, or even chili with no beans.

There will also be a Local Heroes category for people in the military, veterans and first responders.

The winner of the chili cook off receives a prize and goes on to the International Chili Society's World Championship.

"We like the hospitality we get in Nitro. It's fantastic. Just getting to try the different chilis, enjoy the beer, enjoy the dog family friendly event. It's just something really fun to do on a Saturday in the fall,” said Susan LaFew with Wagging Tails and Nitro Ales.

Proceeds from the event go to Dog Bless, which is a local animal rescue.

Wagging Tails and Nitro Ales takes place from noon until 4 at Nitro Living Memorial Park in Nitro.
