Free medical clinic coming to Charleston
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
A medical mobile clinic that will offer free dental, vision and medical care is coming to Charleston.
The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 21, at Bible Center School, 1111 Oakhurst Drive in Charleston, according to a news release from organizers.
Remote Area Medical, a major nonprofit provider of mobile medical clinics, is partnering with West Virginia Health Right.
The clinic in Charleston will offer dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental X-rays, eye exams, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses made on-site, women's health exams and general medical exams.
For its mobile clinics, Remote Area Medical opens the clinic parking lot no later 12 a.m. midnight on the first night of the event. Ticket distribution usually begins at 3 a.m.
Patients are served in chronological order, according to their ticket number when the clinic doors open, usually at 6 a.m. The process will be repeated on the final day of the clinic.
