Four children dead in house fire in Clay County

West Virginia State Police say four children are dead after a house fire in Clay County. (WCHS/WVAH)

First responders are on the scene of a deadly house fire that broke out in the 600 block of Main Street overnight in the town of Clay.

West Virginia State Police said four children died in the fire that started just before midnight. One child was able to escape. Two adults have been taken to the hospital.

Firefighters are working to determine the cause of the fire. No other details have been released.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
