Families displaced after morning apartment fire in Huntington

Four families have been displaced after an early morning fire damaged four apartment units Friday in Huntington.

Huntington Fire Department officials said a four-unit apartment building caught fire about 3 a.m. at the corner of Ninth Street and Monroe Avenue.

When firefighters arrived, heavy smoke rolled out of the apartments. Officials believe the fire started from an apartment on the second floor.

All four of the apartments were left with smoke and water damage, officials said.

No injuries were reported. The fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
