Special weather show to be hosted Saturday morning on WVAH, Fox 11

With the area expected to receive a nasty mix of freezing rain and snow and under a winter weather advisory, Eyewitness News will air a half-hour special weather show Saturday morning .

The show will be broadcast 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. on WVAH-TV, Fox 11, and will be streamed on and on our Facebook page. Live coverage of the show can be viewed in a player that will be embedded in this story.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 7 p.m. Friday through 10 a.m. Saturday.

Multiple counties, including Kanawha and Putnam, are under the advisory. A period of sleet and freezing rain is expected Friday evening and transitioning to snow Friday night. About 2 to 3 inches of snow are possible, with a total ice accumulations of a glaze to a few hundreds of an inch.

The weather service said a flash freeze is possible late Friday night and Saturday morning as temperatures dive into the teens.
