A former Kanawha County magistrate suspected of embezzling thousands of dollars is set to appear in circuit court next month.

It's unclear exactly what criminal action has been taken against Julie Yeager, who resigned nearly two years ago. No formal paperwork is on file at the Kanawha County Circuit Clerk's Office but Monday, Raleigh County Prosecutor Kristen Keller, who was appointed a special prosecutor in the case, said Yeager is scheduled to appear before Judge Duke Bloom on March 15 at 1:30 p.m.

Yeager is suspected of embezzling thousands of dollars from the West Virginia Magistrate Association while serving as treasurer. She served as magistrate for more than 13 years.
