Fugitive Eric Conn back in Kentucky after arrest in Honduras
LEXINGTON, KY (WCHS/WVAH) —
Eric Conn has returned to Kentucky. The fugitive lawyer was arrested over the weekend in Honduras. He arrived at Bluegrass Airport in Lexington in a plane about 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
FBI agents were there to greet Conn as he got off the plane. A spokesperson said he was arrested Saturday at a Pizza Hut in Honduras. Authorities are saying little about the details surrounding his capture. In June ,Conn's home confinement ankle bracelet was found along Interstate 75 outside Lexington, and since then the FBI has put all available resources into finding Conn.
"We also worked closely with various FBI field offices, FBI headquarters division and FBI legal attaché offices in multiple countries, particularly those in Mexico City and San Salvador as well as our international partners. We pursued all investigative avenues," said Amy Hess, special agent in charge of the FBI office in Louisville.
As he was being led away by FBI agents, Conn's only comment was, "It's good to be back home."
