Emergency landing made at Yeager Airport after cracked windshield
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
Yeager Airport officials said an American Airlines plane made a safe emergency landing Tuesday afternoon after a cracked windshield.
American Airlines Flight AA5627 was traveling from Charlotte, N.C. , to Akron, Ohio about 1:45 p.m. when it diverted to Yeager Airport, a news release from Yeager said. The plane contained 49 passengers and three crew members.
Airport Director Terry Sayre said the flight landed safely, and there were no service interruptions to regularly scheduled flights.
American Airlines likely will provide a new plane to carry the passengers to their destination, the release said.
