Anyone game for some exotic food can get his or her belly full this weekend in Dunbar.

The annual Critter Dinner is scheduled noon Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Dunbar Recreation Center, where cooks will be serving “anything that walks on four legs, crawls or swims,” organizers said.

Past cuisine has included such delicacies as elk, alligator, frog legs, quail and camel burgers. Organizers said if it can be boiled, sautéed, smoked or fried, it may end up on the buffet menu with vegetables, bread and drinks.

The cost for the meal is a donation of five items (canned or dry goods or cleaning supplies). Cash donations also will be accepted.

Proceeds go the Dunbar Institute Food Pantry.

The city of Dunbar has been hosting the event since 1974.
