Drug sweep in Boone County leads to 18 arrests

Eighteen suspects were in custody and a few others are still being sought in a drug sweep in Boone County.

The drug sweep began about 5:30 a.m. Thursday, and arrests were made throughout the county.

West Virginia State Police is the lead investigating agency and is being joined by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the Madison Police Department and other local departments.

The arrests involved primarily heroin and methamphetamine.
