Deputies say two men charged in violent home invasion in Mason County
HARTFORD, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
The Mason County Sheriff's Office said two men are facing several charges in a violent home invasion.
John P. Baxley, Jr., 32, and Brett A. Rogers, 31, both of Gallipolis Ferry were charged with burglary, armed robbery, grand larceny and kidnapping, according to criminal complaints filed in Mason County Magistrate Court. Baxley was additionally charged with sexual assault.
Deputies said it happened about 1 a.m. Wednesday in Hartford. Deputies said two women were in a home when the two suspects entered with face masks. Deputies said they began beating the women with semiautomatic weapons, bound them with electrical tape and threatened to kill them. Deputies said Baxley sexually assaulted one of the victims.
Deputies said after several hours, the suspects stole everything of value in the home and a vehicle.
Both suspects were arrested and placed in the Western Regional Jail.
