Court records say man faces animal cruelty charges in Cabell County
CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
Cabell County deputies said a man faces animal cruelty charges after two cows that appeared to be malnourished died on his property and other animals did not appear to be receiving proper care.
Ralph Corbin Pardue, 60, of Ohio River Road was charged Dec. 15, 2018, with 10 counts of cruelty to animals, according to criminal complaints filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court.
Deputies said two cows that he was taking care of died on his property on Dec. 14 in the 6100 block of Ohio River Road. The complaint said the animals appeared to be malnourished.
Other complaints said six cows did not appear be receiving proper food or care.
Deputies said a pony that Pardue was taking care of was tied up with no food or water. A complaint also said a horse he was taking care of had no food or water and was running free on the property next to an active roadway.
