Charleston woman celebrates her 100th birthday
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
A Charleston woman celebrated turning 100 on Saturday, surrounded by her family and friends.
The celebration, of course, involved a cake with a big “100” on top to celebrate Elsie Beeler reaching the ultimate mile-marker.
Beeler’s daughter, Janet East explained how important it was for her and her 4 siblings to celebrate someone they look up to so much, who brightens people's days with music. She said her mother plays the piano regularly for other guests at Edgewood Summit.
The crowd sang “Happy Birthday” as Beeler played the song on the piano.
"She is so special to everyone whose life she's ever passed, and she's our mom, we're so proud of her as a mom,” Janet Easy said.
Beeler has been playing the piano for much of her life, and she doesn't plan of stopping anytime soon.
