Police say man shot in arm on Charleston's East End


Metro 911 says Charleston a man was shot in the arm at Washington Manor Monday afternoon, and he then ran to Charleston Arbor Apartments.  No arrests have been made so far. (WCHS/WVAH)

Charleston police said a man was shot in the arm on Charleston's East End Monday afternoon.

Police said Alex Brown was shot at the Washington Manor Apartment Complex about 5 p.m..

After he was shot, Brown ran to the Charleston Arbors Apartments where someone called 911, police said.

Police said Brown refused to go to the hospital, but he will be OK.

A juvenile was charged with being a minor in possession of a firearm. It was unclear whether he was involved in the shooting.

Metro 911 said Charleston police have responded to a shooting on the East End.

An emergency dispatcher said one person was shot in the 100 block of Washington Street East near Charleston Arbors. No condition was available.

Eyewitness News has a crew at the scene, where police put one person who appeared to be a juvenile in handcuffs and put the person in a squad car. Several cruisers are at the scene.

Charleston Arbors is located across from the Greyhound bus station.
